Milk is the main and only food for infants during the first 4 - 6 months of their lives. Milk should not be removed completely from an infant’s diet when other foods are introduced. From the 5th to 7th months, milk is still an infant’s main food, but it is no longer the only food he/she eats. The infant will get enough nutrients from other food to be able to supplement them with a little milk (up to 100 grams).
