Sanilac AR helps considerably to reduce reflux. It contains carob flour which:

• Thickens the milk in the infant's stomach, something which provides relief from reflux.
• Because of its fermentation in the large intestine, it increases the volume of stools and also increases contractions in the intestine. This treats constipation effectively and produces frequent, soft gelatinous stools.
• It can be fermented by natural intestinal flora and especially by bifidobacteria, and this enhances the growth of probiotic microflora.
• It does not add extra calories to the meal.

If the stools remain very soft, it is possible to mix Sanilac AR with Sanilac 1 and Sanilac 2 without affecting the process that helps to treat gastroesophageal reflux.
